I cry out for justice

oh, just one

in silence in the presence

of the oppressor

i can not bring myself

to speak that which

 causes my heart to ache

and my soul to bleed

I am fearful of the one

whom seems so powerful

except when compared to your might

my faith is tested

and I cower in shame

possibly my reactions

cause this injustice

but pity me and shed your

healing mercy upon my wounds

I turn whole heartedly towards thee

and seek thy strength

to be able to withstand my own fears

and move in unison with thy will

Oh, justice be patient with me

and fierce with mine enemies

I do not deserve thy company

and cautiously welcome you in to my home

open my eyes so that I may see

your workings and my heart so that

I may feel your presence

and my mind that I may understand

your wisdom

be to me the river and

not a reflection therein

cut the path of truth in the rock of time

let me drift upon your current to safety

and not drown in your duties

a casualty of inaction

Oh justice I call on thee

look upon my with the eye of mercy

and not of equity
